Although I love the mountain towns of Aspen and Denver, I’m just as crazy about a beach getaway. Whether you’re considering honeymoon destinations, a bachelor or bachelorette party, or an out-of-this-world birthday party, I highly recommended Cabo.

So first, where to stay? Here are four of my favorite properties in that part of Mexico:
–Montage Los Cabos: the service and food are next level, the spa is beautiful, and it’s a peaceful home base for any type of Cabo trip. This would be a great spot for a romantic mini moon or book a few suites or residences and have a big milestone celebration here.
–Esperanza: this is a classic (it was where I stayed on my first trip to Cabo!) and would be a great spot for a welcome dinner over a girls’ weekend. Or stay a few days and experience a fun meal, dip in the multiple pools, and stay in a cliffside residence.

–Chileno Bay: one of the newest additions to the luxury hotel scene, it has one of the best restaurants in the world (Comal), not to mention a contemporary design that feels like a cool breath of fresh air in the middle of the desert. Add to that a great kids club, fantastic spa, three pools, and a private beach and there’s not much more to say.
–One & Only Palmilla: the incense-scented pathways make this feel (and smell) like a majestic oasis. At night, the lighting adds to the magic. This is a Cabo staple for a reason—unparalleled service and classic design that has you feeling welcomed immediately.
For food and beverage, I love getting drinks at The Cape during sunset. The views at this young, hip hotel here are unparalleled and the drinks are strong in the right way. And then for dinner, there’s a little jewel hidden away called Los Tres Gallos. Enclosed by brick walls in downtown Cabo, it’s an unexpected treat. Order a margarita, enjoy the friendly service, and let the mariachi band serenade you. And then get in touch with your inner zen by doing yoga or grabbing brunch (why not both?) at Flora Farms, and then swing by their shops and pick up some of their rejuvenating body products.

While Cabo may be known for the party scene, it’s also a stunning spot with great sights, so book a whale watching trip (peak season is December through March) by the famous Arch.
