Every bride who is planning an outdoor wedding worries about the weather on her big day, which is why Bluebird Productions would like to share our top tips for a rainy wedding day.

The most important thing you can do to ensure that no matter the weather you enjoy your wedding day is to create a back up plan early on. Weddings with outdoor ceremonies will often hold the reception indoors or in a tent. If this is the case you can work with your planner and vendors to move the ceremony inside as well. If there is a chance that the weather could improve another option is to push the ceremony back 30 minutes and serve cocktails before the ceremony instead of after. If you are pretty sure that it is going to rain and still plan on holding your ceremony outside, buy cute matching umbrellas for your bridesmaids or guests.

A favorite rainy day wedding moment of ours occurred at Lauren & Mark’s wedding on top of Aspen Mountain when Chelsea collected rain water and gave it to the bride and groom to use in the baptism of their future children.

Whatever your back up plan is, it is important that you work closely with your wedding planner and vendors so that everyone involved in your big day can ensure that it goes perfectly regardless of the weather.
